Following his retirement from Maybank, MH took on several significant roles. He became an independent non-executive director in companies across multiple countries, including CapitaCommercial Trust REIT in Singapore, MCB Bank Ltd. in Pakistan, and Syarikat Takaful Indonesia PT in Indonesia. He also served as the chairman of the Bank-Negara sponsored Corporate Debt Restructuring Committee, formed after the global financial crisis in 2008. Additionally, he held positions as an independent director of Bank of America Malaysia Berhad and as a member of the Mastercard International Asia-Pacific Advisory Board.

MH has been serving as the Chairman of Credit Guarantee Corporation Berhad since 2019. He also serves as the Chairman of Hap Seng Plantations Berhad and Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Keluarga Berhad. Additionally, he is a Professor of Practice at INCIEF University in Kuala Lumpur.

MH graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) from the University of Newcastle, Australia. He later completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School in Boston, USA.

Notable Contributions

Throughout his career, MH has made significant contributions to leadership and entrepreneurship development. He designed the Danajamin100 Youth Leadership Program – Building Leaders of Tomorrow and the CGC100 Entrepreneurial Development Program.
